Zachary Stephenson of Bastrop is one of three Ouachita Christian Eagles on the Louisiana Sports Writers Association's Class 1A All-State team.

A senior third baseman, Stephenson helped the Eagles to a 29-4 record and the state championship. Starting all 33 games, he hit .457 for the season, including a robust .561 with runners in scoring position, to go with a .523 on-base percentage. His stat line also included 43 hits, 33 runs scored and 26 RBIs. Always a tough out, Stephenson struck out only nine times in 112 plate appearances.
?Stephenson put an excalamation point on his career by going 2-for-3 and driving in two runs as the Eagles blanked Central?Catholic 10-0 in the championship game.

In 97 career games (92 starts), Stephenson hit .387 with 104 hits, three home runs, four triples, 23 doubles and 68 RBIs.

Stephenson is joined on the first team by senior pitcher Mark Laird and junior outfielder Braden Bristo.
Laird was named as the Outstanding Player after compiling a 9-1 record with a 0.72 ERA on the mound and batting .474, with 13 extra base hits (2 home runs, 3 triples, 8 doubles) and 36 runs scored. Laird was also the Outstanding Offensive Player on the Class 1A All-State football team.

Bristo, who helped the Eagles to state championships in football, track and baseball, put together a .371 batting average with 17 RBIs.

OCS senior first baseman Josh Wilkes (.346, 3 HRs, 14 2Bs) is an honorable mention selection.

Senior shortstop Hanna Cobb of Bastrop earned honorable mention recognition on the All-State softball team after helping the Lady Eagles reach the state semifinals. OCS is also represented by senior pitcher Carly Thaxton on the first team and senior catcher Holly Taylor on the honorable mention list.
