Hunter Binns and Kristin Kindrix were recently named the 2012 Mr. and Miss Prairie View Academy.
Hunter is the son of the 1989 Mr. PVA Freddie Binns, Jr. and Tammy Whitlock. Hunter has been a member of the varsity football team, where he earned the honor of MAIS 1st Team, All-District Defensive End this year. He also has been a member of the varisty basketball team, where he served as team captain during his senior year. Currently, he plays mixed doubles as a member of the tennis team. Hunter is also a member of the National Honor Society, and he has attended PVA since the first grade. He is very active with the pee-wee sports program, coaching several teams for both travel and intramural basketball. He plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe and pursue a career in nursing.
Kristin is the daughter of Steven and Carrie Kindrix. She has been a member of the Lady Spartan varsity softball team, where she earned the titles of MVP and MAIS All-star. She also has been a member of the Lady Spartan basketball team and earned the honor of MAIS 2nd team All-District. She is the vice-president of the National Honor Society and treasure for the student council. She has also been honored by her peers as the Freshman Homecoming Maid and the 2011 Homecoming Maid of Honor. After school each day, she works at Lagniappe Health Care. Kristin plans to continue her education at the University of Louisiana, where she will pursue a degree in pharmacy.
Both Hunter and Kristin have been enrolled in duel enrollment classes for the past two years and have earned a year's worth of college credit at ULM.
