Moeller’s 7, Optimist 1
Aaron Davis threw five strong innings and Gavin Pollock mashed three hits as Moeller’s knocked off Optimist 7-1 on Thursday in Dixie Youth Baseball.
Moeller’s took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first and gradually increased the margin.
Davis punched out 11 while holding the O’s to one run for the win and Logan Ray pitched a scoreless sixth. Kyle Perkins fanned six through three innings in absorbing the loss, before giving way to Drake Wilmore.
At the plate for Moeller’s (4-1-1), Pollock accounted for two doubles and a single, Ray and Austin Clark doubled and Jared Goodson and Jacob Hopfinger singled. Wilmore singled for the O’s lone hit.
Moeller’s 9, Johnny’s Pizza 8
Moeller’s pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the fifth to trim Johnny’s Pizza 9-8 in Dixie Youth Baseball.
Johnny’s wiped out an early 7-1 deficit to tie the game at 8 in the top of the fifth.
Gavin Pollock and Jared Goodson doubled for Moeller’s (3-1-1) and Logan Ray, Austin Clark and John Ellender singled. Nigel Hammond was the big stick for Johnny’s with two triples and a single, Jordan Jones and Juwan Norris doubled and singled, and Marthony Miller and Tristan Swain singled.
Davis was the winning pitcher in relief of Goodson and Pollock. Mason Robinson took the loss in relief of Chris Davis and Jones.
Moeller’s 12, RYK&L 3
Gavin Pollock and Aaron Davis ripped three hits apiece as Moeller’s was a 12-3 Dixie Youth Baseball victor over Rankin, Yeldell, Katz & Lowery.
Moeller’s raced to a 6-0 lead with three in the top of the first and three more in the third.
Pollock clubbed two doubles and a single, Davis banged a double and two singles, Austin Clark and Jacob Hopfinger singled twice and Logan Ray and Jared Goodson singled for Moeller’s (2-1-1). Hunter Carpenter laced two singles and Skadarryo Johnson and Dylan Armstrong added base hits for the Attorneys.
Logan Ray struck out five in four innings of relief for the win. Goodson started on the mound for Moeller’s, striking out four in two scoreless innings. Kyle Casillas, Carpenter and Mack Sutton worked on the mound for RYK&L.
D&H 12, Bastrop Lions 3
Jacob Fortner picked up the win on the mound and Makel Logan tripled as D&H Sporting Goods was a 12-3 winner over Bastrop Lions in Dixie Minor Baseball.
Bastrop Lions grabbed an early 1-0 lead, but D&H answered with seven in the home half of the first and five in the second to go up 12-1.
Fortner struck out three in two frames, with Kenyon Bethea and Logan each providing an inning of scoreless relief.
D&H totaled four hits as Logan tripled and Bethea, A.J. Eddins and Jacob Fortner singled. Logan Hagan accounted for both of the Lions’ hits with a third inning double and a first inning single.
Kevin Wade was charged with the loss on the mound, with Hagan finishing up.
Mer Rouge Lions 4, Woodmen 2
Rallying for three runs in the top of the fifth, the Mer Rouge Lions clipped Woodmen of the World 4-2 in Rookie League action.
Down 2-1 going into its final at bat, Mer Rouge tied the game on Jacob Farrar’s home run. Carter Ellison followed with a double and Cole Lebrun, Ethan White and Luke Thrash singled to give the Lions a 4-2 lead.
Mer Rouge held WOW scoreless in the bottom of the fifth to cement the victory.
WOW snapped a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth when Danny Hill tripled and scored on Riley Spillers’ base hit.
Hitting for Mer Rouge were Farrar with a round tripper, Ellison with a double and Brayden Spigner, Lebrun, White and Thrash with safeties. Hill hammered a triple and a double for WOW, Spillers stroked two singles and Jeremiah Hollins and Jordan Rabun contributed base bumps.
Moeller’s 10, Woodmen 4
Jaden Davis cracked a solo home run and a double as Moeller’s downed Woodmen of the World 10-4 Thursday afternoon in Rookie League action.
Moeller’s (1-4-1) broke up a scoreless game with six runs in the bottom of the second.
Davis homered, doubled and scored two runs to spearhead Moeller’s 14-hit effort. Brock Jenkins drove in three runs with a double and a single, Robbeyone Williams had two singles, two RBIs and scored twice, Kody Boatright furnished a double, a single and two RBIs, Varick Morgan whacked an RBI double and Bobby Smith, Kade Thurman, Walker Morris, Cason Churchwell and Caleb Hopkins singled.
Woodmen received two singles from Riley Spillers and Gavin Lingefelt and base hits from Matt Blake, Jordan Rayburn, Jeremiah Hollins, Hayes Crockett and Eaan Blake.
