    • The Morehouse Parish Farm Bureau hosted its annual banquet for local farmers and families and the public at the Bastrop Municipal Center Friday night. Morehouse Farm Bureau Damian Bollich and state Rep. Sam Little welcomed the large crowd and Morehouse Women's Committee chairman Pam Little spoke about Ag in the Classroom and water conservation. The evening included a fish fry dinner cooked by Roger and Mary Lou Herring and door prizes donated by area agricultural businesses. The Bureau also presented the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Office with a contribution toward the purchase of bullet-proof vests. Parish agent Clarence Fontenot said the banquet has been an annual tradition for close to 40 years.
